Playing Online Poker

Posted by & filed under Uncategorized.

Poker sites are all over the website. There’s a variety of different sites, so there are decisions to be made before you start playing. Do you want to play for entertainment only or do you want to play for money? Do you want to play with real poker stars?

There are many different sites that provide a forum for being able to play poker that doesn’t require any exchange of money. It’s free. They give you “fake” money and you can practice and play until your heart’s content without worrying about emptying out your bank account. If you enjoy the game and just want to play, there’s an array of sites to choose from. Some are dedicated to poker only, others are online casinos for entertainment and others are on simple gaming sites that cover everything from Sudoku to poker.

Sites that are dedicated to poker are likely to offer more varieties of poker including Omaha, 5-card stud, and 7-card stud, giving you the chance to learn different forms. Omaha is very similar to Texas Hold’em, except that you are dealt four cards instead of two, and that your hand must consist of 2 of your cards and 3 of the community cards. 5-card and 7-card stud doesn’t involve community cards, so it is a very straight-forward game and very easy to learn.

There are other sites that have real poker stars playing on them. Watching the WSOP tournaments will give you an idea as to what sites are out there and who sponsors which ones as they all wear the site’s hats and t-shirts. Being able to play poker with one of the professionals can really improve your game because you’ll see how they bet and fold. It may surprise you, but they do fold hands just as often, if not more, than a normal player. They also bet differently, which is why these sites have become so popular.

Once you’ve made all these decisions, then you’re on your way to playing online poker.

Whether you play for money or household chores, or just for the sheer fun of it, once you learn to play poker, you’ll find yourself playing it for the rest of your life. It’s a fun game that takes a lifetime to master because each hand and each person you play with makes it so much different. So put on your best poker face (or a pair of dark shades) and shuffle the deck!
